Women’s Skills Development Organization (WSDO) Nepal is a non-profit, Fair Trade organization dedicated to empowering women through skill development, sustainable employment, and social inclusion. Established in 1975 in Pokhara, our mission is to create opportunities for socially and economically disadvantaged women, enabling them to become independent, confident, and respected members of society.
At WSDO, we train and employ women—many of whom are widows, single mothers, survivors of abuse, or from marginalized communities—in traditional hand-weaving, sewing, and handicraft production. By transforming local raw materials into beautiful, eco-friendly products, we not only preserve Nepal’s rich craft heritage but also create sustainable livelihoods.
Our products are handmade with love and care, carrying the stories of resilience and strength of the women behind them. Through our Fair Trade practices, we ensure fair wages, safe working conditions, and dignity at work while promoting environmental sustainability.
Over the years, WSDO has become a model organization in Nepal and beyond, proving that when women are given opportunities, they can uplift themselves, their families, and their communities.
