Bijeshwori Gyan Mandir Sainik Mahavidyalaya (BGMSMV) is a girls' school established on 23rd Kartik, 2054B.S. (9th November, 1997A.D.) in the lap of Swoyambhu Nath. The Mahavidyalaya is run by the Directorate of Army Welfare under the aegis of Nepali Army Wives Association (NAWA). The foundation stone was primarily laid down by Nepali Army Wives Association (NAWA) in order to provide quality education to the daughters of Army personnel. The aim of the Mahavidyalaya is to provide quality education to the daughters of both Army personnel and civilians at affordable fee in a ratio of sixty and forty percentage respectively. It offers a multi-faceted and balanced curriculum for Grade 1-12, where excellence in girl’s education is nurtured, pursued and celebrated since its inception.
Incontestably the Mahavidyalaya is ordained to play an important role in activating patriotism, self-reliance and life-skills in the heart and mind of the daughters of army personnel and civil. It adopts its best available learning approaches and provides optimum opportunities in scholastic cum co-scholastic activities to all the students by identifying their hidden talents. Moreover, it incorporates individual counseling closely associated to course of studies and career guidelines for future successes. The Mahavidyalaya is committed to maintain academic ethos in exploring the potentialities of girls to shoulder the process of nation building as per its requirements, and to compete globally in diverse arenas.
