Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Diseases Hospital ✓

In the year 1990 B.S., under the Director of Medical Services, Cholera Hospital was established at Teku, where the rope-way terminal was now located. In 2007 B.S., the hospital moved from the old site to the new building. In the year 2019, the Infectious Diseases Unit was named under Beer Hospital and the hospital was also renovated in the same year. In the year 2034 B.S., it was named as a communicable disease hospital and was separated from Beer Hospital and operated as a separate hospital. In the year 2037 B.S., Gastroenterology Unit was operated under this hospital. From the year 2042 B.S., the name of Infectious Disease Hospital was changed to Teku Hospital. 2050 Central Leprosy Clinic and Anti-Leprosy Clinic were included in this hospital after renaming it as Communicable Disease Hospital on 1st of Shravan. According to the Teku Hospital Development Committee Directive, 2049, it was transformed into Teku Hospital Development Committee from 29th Jestha, 2053 B.S. From Magh 11, 2053 B.S., the name of Teku Hospital was changed to Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital. According to the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 30th Mansir, 2054 B.S., the Central Leprosy Clinic was separated from Shukraraj Tropical and Communicable Disease Hospital and placed under the Leprosy Control Division. Currently, this hospital is operating as a referral hospital for tropical and communicable diseases with 100 beds under the Ministry of Health and Population.
