The Bachelor of Healthcare Management (BHCM) program at National Open College (NOC) is a pioneering four-year undergraduate degree affiliated with Pokhara University . NOC was the first institution in South Asia to introduce Healthcare Management as an academic discipline when it launched this program in 2000 AD, establishing a new pathway for combining medical services with managerial expertise . The curriculum at NOC is designed to bridge the critical gap between clinical expertise and professional management, covering essential areas such as healthcare systems, hospital administration, health policy, healthcare economics, strategic management, and health informatics. The program includes practical training through internships, field visits, case studies, and project-based learning to prepare students for real-world challenges in healthcare settings . NOC is currently running its 26th batch of the BHCM program . Graduates are prepared for leadership roles as hospital administrators, healthcare managers, health project coordinators, policy analysts, and consultants in hospitals, healthcare organizations, NGOs, and government health agencies . Eligibility requires completion of +2 or equivalent in any discipline with a minimum second division or D+ grade, and applicants must pass the entrance test conducted by the college.
