The MA in Mahayana Buddhism program at Sugata Buddhist College is a postgraduate degree affiliated with Lumbini Buddhist University . Established in 2012 AD by the Nepal Buddhist Council, this program is designed to provide students with the authentic philosophy of Mahayana Buddhism while fostering understanding and cooperation with other Buddhist traditions and cultural values in society . The curriculum at Sugata Buddhist College covers Mahayana and Vajrayana philosophy comprehensively, combining theoretical knowledge with regular field visits to historical places and guest lectures by distinguished Buddhist scholars . Since its establishment, the college has produced more than 150 scholars in Mahayana Buddhism and remains the only academic institute in Nepal offering higher degree education specifically in Mahayana Buddhism .
