MD General Practice

The Doctor of Medicine in General Practice (MDGP) at KIST Medical College & Teaching Hospital is a three-year postgraduate residency program affiliated with Tribhuvan University’s Institute of Medicine. This program is specifically designed to train specialist physicians in comprehensive primary care and emergency medicine, equipping them to manage a wide spectrum of acute and chronic health conditions across all age groups. The curriculum integrates advanced training in family medicine, emergency care, community health, and preventive medicine, with significant rotations in outpatient departments, emergency rooms, and rural health posts. Residents develop expertise in urgent medical interventions, chronic disease management, diagnostic procedures, and patient-centered care coordination. Graduates are prepared to serve as essential frontline specialists in emergency departments, primary healthcare centers, and as leaders in community-based health programs, addressing a critical need for versatile medical experts in Nepal’s healthcare system.
